UNESCO is reaffirming its support of science centers and science museums in partnering again with the field for the second edition of the International Science Center and Science Museum Day (ISCSMD) on Friday, November 10, this year.

The sub-theme of UNESCO’s 2017 World Science Day for Peace and Development on November 10 is “Global Understanding.” This is a perfect follow-up on our 2016 edition. We have learned from conversations with a lot of participants that addressing the Sustainable Development Goals has proven to be relevant for their existing exhibitions and programs, and also resonated well within their communities. Adding the dimension of global understanding will give new opportunities to create relevant links with the diverse communities in which science centers and science museums are established around the world.
