Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
Goal 15: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss

Annually, the Planetarium Science Center (PSC) organizes a wide range of activities, covering different topics of science presented to all age categories, focusing on kids between 4 and 16 years old. Most of the programs focus on sustainability objectives and actions, intersections with daily life, and effects on the local environment in Egypt.

The PSC organized World Environment Day with an environmental awareness village set up on the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) plaza. Through hands-on activities, the event demonstrated what biodiversity is, where we can find it, how to save it through ourdaily habits, and how we can change to be more environmental friendly. The PSC is also conducting Zero Energy House, a fully energy self-sufficient house designed with the highest energy efficient practices using energy supplied through solar panels, a wind mill, and hydro power. The house was placed on the BA plaza for library visitors to explore the benefits of clean energy in their everyday lives. Additionally, contests and competitions among school and university students are conducted focusing on the fields of the environment and architecture to provide scientific understanding on which the transition to a green economy can be based, including the principles of environmental sustainability and the societal responses required to implement these in practice.
